Company Profile
The company was officially established on February 9, 1982, with the purpose of manufacturing and distributing high-quality paints for industrial use and steel structures employed in various construction projects, such as industrial plants, petrochemical facilities, oil refineries, power plants, and oil and gas rigs in the Gulf of Thailand, providing protection against rust. In addition, the company also produces paints for buildings, wood coatings, furniture finishes, and industrial paints, such as gas cylinder spray paints.
In 2007, the company was converted into Dimet (Siam) Public Company Limited.
In 2024, the company expanded its business and invested in the consumer goods distribution sector, renewable energy businesses, and turnkey engineering and construction contracting services to ensure sustainable growth and long-term profitability for shareholders and stakeholders.
Dimet Milestone
1915 : The beginning of Dimet story
Mr. Harry Walters started producing a reviver for French-polished furniture in his backyard in Sysney's inner western suburbs. He called his invention Cry Veneer, and made such a success of it that it is still sold to this day.
1919 : Wattyl business started
Arthur Wattyl established Wattyl in 1919 in Sydney, Australia. The company began as a small business specializing in the production of paints and coatings.
1929 : Established the factory
Wattyl established the factory on Canada Bay, New South Wales, Australia.
1971 - 1985 : Acmill Group Timeline
1971
Acmil Group from Australia has established Dimet (Singapore) Pte Ltd in Singapore.
1980Acmil Group from Australia established Dimet (Malaysia) Ltd in Malaysia
1982The Acmil Group of Australia subsequently established Dimet (Indonesia) Ltd in Indonesia and Dimet (Siam) Ltd in Thailand to produce specialized heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings for large industrial projects and oil and gas platforms in the Gulf of Thailand by Ameron license.
1985
Australian Consolidated Industries purchased the businesses of Dimet in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand from Australia's Acmil Group.
1988 : Wattyl in Thailand
Wattyl Australia Pty Ltd. acquired Dimet's Asian businesses from Australian Consolidated Industries and renamed the company to Wattyl Dimet. The Thai subsidiary was also renamed to Wattyl Dimet (Siam) Co., Ltd.
At that time, executives from Wattly in Australia assumed the management of Wattyl Dimet (Siam) Co., Ltd.
1992 : Started building the factory
Wattyl Dimet (Siam) Co., Ltd started building the factory and head office at Bangpoo Industrial Estate.
1993 : Run the machine
WattylDimet (Siam) Co., Ltd has just moved into a new two storey building at the Bangpoo Industrial Estate. The move reflects Wattyl-Dimet's increasing influence in the Asian paint market and the need to expand production facilities. The new factory and office complex, which covers 2.6 acres, has been designed and constructed especially to increase production capacity by four times the amount previously produced.
2008 : Successfully listed on the stock exchange
Dimet (Siam) Public Company Limited successfully listed on the stock exchange (Stock Code: "DIMET").
2023 : Rebanding
We educated the market of paint and coating in Thailand. We discoverd our band and packaging what are obsoletion and do not update along time. In 2023 we minded improve banding and packaging for competition.
